SERVICES
Assessment and Treatment
No matter how big or small your concern may be, at Physi Kids Physiotherapy we provide all children with a comprehensive initial assessment. This typically takes between 45-60 minutes, giving us enough time to understand your child’s whole story and extensively assess their needs.
After the initial consultation a detailed therapy plan will be developed, with follow up consults typically scheduled for 30-45 minutes depending on your child’s needs.
FEES
Private Health

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible for a rebate depending on your extras cover. Once paid, Physi Kids Phyiotherapy will email you your invoice to pass on to your private health provider.
Medicare Rebate

Your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of up to 5 sessions per calendar year if they are deemed to have a chronic condition (> 6-month duration since onset). Your GP is able to refer you for this under the Chronic Disease Management plan (previously called the EPC plan). This reduces the out-of-pocket cost per session if approved by your GP.
NDIS

Our fees and terms of service provision are in accordance with the standard NDIS rates to ensure that we are providing an equitable and fair service to all our patients.
Classes
Our classes are run on a term-by-term basis, and are designed for growing, active bodies.
STRONG BODIES CLASS
A class designed to develop strong, flexible and controlled bodies through movement. With common Physiotherapy themes heroed throughout, our Strong Bodies class works through graded, progressive exercise under the supervision of a Physiotherapist to help kids establish appropriate movement patterns, strength and to improve cardiovascular fitness.
A fun, challenging and inclusive class made to keep little bodies moving well.
GET FLEXIBLE CLASS
As our bones grow long, our muscles grow tight. When our kids are going through rapid periods of growth, it is so important that we maintain their flexibility in the right areas.
Our Get Flexible class is designed to reduce the risk of injury, improve sitting and standing posture, walking and running biomechanics, and create good habits for life.
YOUTH ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT CLASS
Is your child specialising in sport? Training multiple times per week? Competing on the weekends, in gala days and state events?
Our Youth Athlete Development class is designed to reduce the risk of acute injury, overuse injury, and to keep your child performing at their highest potential for longer.
Using our sport specific screenings, we develop individualised programs for your child and use our morning session each week to go through flexibility focuses and functional movement patterns that are key in running biomechanics and athletic performance.
Standardised Assessment Tools
Developmental delays, learning disorders, coordination difficulties, and behavioural and social-emotional problems are believed to affect 1 in every 6 children (M. Dunkle, 2014).
Identifying this and providing early intervention has been proven to deliver huge academic, social and behavioural benefits.
MABC-2 ASSESSMENT
The Motor Assessment Battery for Children-2 is a globally standardised test used to identify and describe movement difficulty and motor impairments in children aged 3-16 years.
Being able to quantify the degree of movement difficulty a child may be experiencing is integral in designing targeted and measurable treatment plans and organising appropriate supports.
AGES & STAGES QUESTIONNAIRES
The Ages & Stages Questionnaire is a developmental screening tool used to flag developmental delays and to celebrate milestones.
It is primarily used for children between 0-5 years and assists our team in finding possible delays quickly. This allows the design of appropriate intervention plans to facilitate a smooth transition to primary school - one of the most important periods of a child’s life.
Why might your child need one of our standardised assessments:
-
My child is late in reaching their age-appropriate milestones
-
My child is a little clumsier than their peers
-
My Paediatrician has recommended we undertake one of these assessments
-
Despite lots of practice, my child has found it tricky to learn to ride a bike and to establish their swimming strokes
-
My child has difficulty with key gross motor skills such as running, jumping, catching and throwing
-
My child has difficulty with key fine motor development skills such as tying their own shoelaces, doing up buttons and zippers, using cutlery, and handwriting
-
My child may be eligible for NDIS funding
-
My child may be eligible for school support funding.

Musculoskeletal Screening – Sport Specific
We offer sport specific screenings to assist our growing athletes in:
-
Maximising their performance potential
-
Flagging and reducing the risk of injury
Our team does this by performing a battery of sport-specific tests that look at joint range of motion, muscle flexibility, strength and control, proprioception and functional movement patterns, all while considering the changes that are occurring in their growing bodies.
Feedback is provided to our growing athletes with a targeted home-exercise program designed to assist them in achieving the ‘optimal’ results on re-testing.
Physi Kids Physiotherapy completes this with individuals and in team settings, all with the aim of keeping our athletes playing the sports they love to their highest potential.
Telehealth
NDIS
We offer Telehealth appointments for families that may have difficulty accessing the clinic.
Home Visits
Where appropriate, we offer home visits, school visits and sometimes carry out our therapy sessions at local playgrounds and parks.
Physi Kids Physiotherapy frequently works with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS patients. We can assist you with annual reports and assessments for your NDIS reviews, and pride ourselves in developing appropriate therapy plans that can be easily integrated with your other therapy needs.
Our fees and terms of service provision are in accordance with the standard NDIS rates to ensure that we are providing an equitable and fair service to all our patients.
